What triggers a referral EPR?

When an Airman is involved in an incident that attracts the attention of the Commander, he or she may order, through the chain of command, that the Airman be given a referral EPR.

What constitutes a referral EPR?

Definition: Referral EPRs are defined in AFI 36-2406, Para. 1.10. and Figure 1.1. A report that contains any of the following rating or remarks by an evaluator must be referred to you for comment: The procedures afford you an opportunity to comment on the report.

Who is required to receive an EPR?

EPRs are required to be completed on an annual basis based on grade of the Airman being rated. However, EPRs are no longer required for regular Air Force Airmen in the grade of airman first class and below with less than 36 months’ time-in-service or Air Reserve Component Airmen below the grade of senior airman.

Can you enlist with a referral EPR?

Beginning this year, the Air Force will no longer automatically issue a referral for enlisted airmen who do not meet all expectations on their enlisted performance report.

What is the AFI for EPR?

Can you promote with a UIF?

Who writes EPR?

An EPR evaluates the performance of an enlisted member both on and off duty. The period of time covered by the EPR is normally no less than 120 days and no longer than 365 days. EPRs are normally written by the member’s supervisor with additional input provided by their supervisor’s supervisor.

It’s important to note that commanders are merely requesting an opportunity to reschedule a test date – the actual approval authority is the commander of the Military Personnel Flight.

Can you PCS with an Article 15?

You can PCS with an active UIF; however, the file is forwarded to your gaining commander. f. Commanders keep the UIF for two years when it contains an Article 15. The commander can dispose of the UIF early if clearly warranted.
