What is forged monoblock?
A forged wheel, or monoblock forged wheel, uses an entirely different and much more complex process. This hardened aluminium block then goes into a precision CNC mill, which then machines the wheel design out of that solid block, producing a much thinner, lighter, yet much stronger wheel.

How much do BC forged wheels weigh?
The 19inch wheels weigh about 22lbs.
What does a forged wheel mean?
A forged wheel is manufactured from a billet, or a large square piece of solid metal. The billet is heated to extreme temperatures and pressurized to take its shape. This thermal cycle process causes forged wheels to be stronger than cast wheels due to grain refinement.
Do forged wheels crack?
A forged wheel would not have cracked, but would have been left unscathed or slightly bent. If you put a slick tire on a cast wheel (or even a 200 treadwear tire, like used in Optima Search For the Ultimate Street Car) with a heavy car you can actually break a cast wheel.
What’s the difference between forged and cast wheels?
The difference between these 2 types of wheels is in the manufacturing process. Forged rims are made from solid aluminium that are heated to allow pressurized machines to shape the rims. Cast wheels on the other hand are made from aluminium that is melted into the liquid form, and poured into molds.
What is knurled bead seat?
A knurled bead seat is pressed on the rim in order to reduce tire slippage between wheel and tire. This achieves the highest performance during extreme acceleration and braking. This upgrade benefits motorsports and track applications. Less weight generates better acceleration and braking.
Why are forged wheels better?
Forged wheels are less porous than cast wheels because of the forging process. The forging process makes these wheels stronger, more durable and more resistant to corrosion and oxidation. Forged wheels tend to have greater overall vehicle performance and enhanced fuel efficiency.
Are forged wheels lighter?
Forged wheels are manufactured in a more involved process than cast wheels, which means they are more expensive. However, they are much stronger and can use less material than cast wheels, leading them to be lighter. Forged wheels can be 10-20lbs lighter than a cast aluminum wheel.
