What is BCA Compliance?

The Building Code of Australia (BCA) provides the minimum necessary requirements for safety, health, amenity and sustainability in the design and construction of new buildings (and new building work in existing buildings) in NSW and throughout Australia.

What is BCA requirement?

The BCA is a performance-based code which contains the ‘Performance Requirements’ for the construction of buildings. The performance requirements are the minimum level of performance that buildings and building elements must meet.

What is the difference between BCA and Australian standards?

Australian Standards are published by Standards Australia on an as-needs basis and generally take several years to be written and published. There are over 200 Australian Standards referenced in the BCA and over 1000 more standards indirectly referenced in the BCA.

What is the goal of the BCA?

The goals of the BCA are to enable the achievement and maintenance of acceptable standards of structural sufficiency, safety (including safety from fire), health and amenity for the benefit of the community now and in the future.

What is the minimum percentage required for BCA?

Basic BCA eligibility criteria in most Indian colleges Candidates need to have at least 50% marks in their Class 12 exams to be able to take admissions for the BCA course. Students also need to have English as a mandatory subject in their 12th-grade exam.

Is the BCA now the NCC?

The Building Code of Australia (BCA) Volume 1 and 2 are now part of the National Construction Code (NCC) series published by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB).
