We are very excited to announce that VocabularySpellingCity is now Vocabulary A-Z. VocabularySpellingCity’s free tools aren’t going anywhere, though! We’re still going to provide our free spelling practice tools to families and classrooms who’ve come to rely on them.

Vocabulary Spelling City is a companion app for the website www.spellingcity.com. With this app, you can bring all the games your kids use at school right to their mobile device at home. Teachers and parents can create customized word lists to help kids improve spelling, vocabulary, and grammar.

IXL will track your score, and the questions will automatically increase in difficulty as you improve! Here is a list of all of the skills that cover spelling! To start practicing, just click on any link.

VocabularySpellingCity’s Teaching Resources pages provide free lesson plan ideas and great supplemental materials and spelling resources for teachers in all subject areas and grade levels.

Does SpellingCity cost money?

The app is free and has no advertising. It works in partnership with the SpellingCity website, where parents and teachers can create word lists for kids to practice and study on the website or app.

How do my students log into SpellingCity?

To use VocabularySpellingCity, students simply log into their email accounts and then are able to go directly to the VocabularySpellingCity web page and click on the Sign in with Google button.

How do teachers use SpellingCity?

Teachers and /or parents can create customised spelling lists within the app to practice words they are studying at school or home. It helps to reinforce literacy skills with vocabulary and spelling including word recognition, multiple exposures, word meanings and writing practice.

All of the Premium vocabulary, spelling, and phonics games and tools that you’ve grown to love on VocabularySpellingCity, as well as many great new features, will soon only be available on Vocabulary A-Z.
