What barrel does LMT use?
LMT is currently supplying 16″, 18″ and 20″ 1:11¼” twist (rifling grooves complete one full revolution inside the bore every 11.25 inches) blackened stainless match barrels, as well as 16″ and 20″ chrome-lined chrome-moly 1:10″ twist barrels for the civilian market.
Are LMT barrels chrome-lined?

Are LMT Defense barrels CHF (Cold Hammer Forged)? No, LMT barrels are not cold hammer forged. Commonly confused with CHF, is our cryogenic stress relieving process. This is done on all barrels, both chrome-moly and stainless.
Do hammer forged barrels last longer?
Sure in an non-chrome barrel, cold hammer forged might last longer. But with a chrome-lined barrel only the chrome is touching the gases and bullet as it exists the barrel. Chrome lining is harder then the hardest Hammer forged barrel.
Are chrome lined barrels less accurate?
There are many people who argue that chrome lined barrels are less accurate than an otherwise identical steel barrel. All things being equal, this is true, but for most shooters, the degree to which accuracy is lost by using a chrome-lined barrel is generally unnoticeable.
