How much textile medium do you add to paint?

To use the fabric medium, you simply mix 1 part fabric medium with 2 parts acrylic paint. The fabric medium is a liquid that mixes easily with the paint and thins it out a bit. It did not dilute the color of the paint as far as we could tell. Wash and dry your fabric prior to painting if possible, then paint away.

How long does Ceramcoat take to dry?

Ceramcoat Frosted Glass Paint dries to the touch within 1–2 hours, depending on thickness of application; when using heavier applications of paint or working in a high humidity area, the paints can take longer to dry. Once dry, your glass surface must be baked in the oven to fully cure the paint to the surface.

How long does fabric medium take to dry?

Acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium will typically dry in 1-2 hours.

How do you seal acrylic paint on fabric?

The other way to seal your acrylic paint is to heat set it. To do that, just make sure not to use the steam setting on your iron. Also, turn the fabric inside out or over to the other side so that you do not iron what you just painted.

How many isolation coats do you need?

Two to three coats should provide substantial coverage although more may be applied if necessary. To determine if you need to apply a second or third layer of isolation coat, once the first coat is dry look at the painting at an angle and an even sheen should indicate an even surface ready for varnish.

Can I use a hairdryer to dry fabric paint?

The sunlight heats the fabric and helps dry out the paint faster. Select low heat on a hair dryer and aim it at the fabric, holding it 1 or 2 feet from the material, moving the hair dryer back and forth slowly. Do not hold it close or use high heat, as this may overheat the paint or fabric and ruin the project.

How do you set fabric paint?

You can heat set fabric paint by using an iron. The setting you will use will depend on the fabric that you used in your project. Use a clean, dry pressing cloth over the front of the design and iron it for two to five minutes. Do not use the steam setting or any moisture.
