Is Agricola revised edition better?
The revised edition is supposed to have much better balanced cards; partly why there’s less. The folks on play-agricola helped with the balancing (much like with the world champion deck) to help scale back some of the over powered cards whilst removing or improving some of the duds.

A very big difference is that old version is 1-5 players whereas new version is 1-4 players when you buy the base game only. Only if you have a set group of 5 people constantly playing Agricola, for 6 you need the new one, but its normally played with 3-4 players.

Pandemic is a great game to play with 2 players. You can always choose 2 characters each and play with 4 characters anyway. As everyone said, you should follow different strategies in 2p and 4p games. Though, in general, a 2p game is significantly easier than a 4p game.
