Are classes online fall 2021 CSUN?
In Fall semester, 2021, we are transitioning many classes back to campus. Many classes remain fully online as well. Once enrolled, you will be contacted via your CSUN email for updates about on-campus meetings and possible room changes.
Will CSUN be online in the fall?
May 12, California State University Chancellor Timothy White shared that courses on CSU campuses this fall will be offered primarily through virtual learning due to the current and anticipated impacts of COVID-19. More information about CSUN’s plans for the fall semester will be shared in the coming weeks.
Is CSUN doing online classes?
CSUN currently offers eight (8) course types, three (3) of which are taught fully online (FOA, FOS and FOI). Cross-campus enrollment is available through the CSU Fully Online Courses Program for eligible matriculated students to enroll in one course per term offered by another CSU campus.

Will CSUN be open in the fall?
Fall 2021 brings an increased return to campus life, with more than 50% of class sections having an on-campus component and more on-campus services available in-person. Virtual services and events will continue to be offered.
What does Cos mean in CSUN?
Campus Online Synchronous
Campus Online Synchronous (COS in the Schedule of Classes). These classes have a set meeting time. Some of these meetings will be online during the scheduled time using the recommended software platform (e.g. Zoom, Canvas) and some of the meetings will be on-campus during the scheduled time.
Is CSUN in person this fall?
CSUN President announces an increase in face-to-face classes for fall semester. The fall semester will hold nearly 2,000 course sections that will be offered in person. Students will be able to determine whether the class is offered online or in-person at the time of registration.

How do I drop a class at CSUN?
Do the following:
- View class status (open or closed).
- Enter the permission number if department or instructor consent is required.
- Optional: Change the grading basis. Check with an advisor first or review the Grading Policy.
- Review Enrollment Requirements.
- Review Notes for additional course information and requirements.
Are CSUN offices open?
CSUN remains open but only limited face-to-face student services will continue to be available to increase social distancing for students and employees and significantly lower the number of people physically on campus. The Associated Student Central office is closed for now.
Are there any off campus programs at CSUN?
Locations for off-campus vary each admissions cycle. All courses are taught by distinguished CSUN faculty who are also experts in the field of social work, and the program is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
Do you have to go to CSUN for MSW?
Students will not be required to come to the CSUN campus or any other affiliate university campus during the four-semester online MSW program. Field hours will be 16 hours per week during the entire duration of the program.
How many classes are taught at California State University?
Classes are taught three at a time, in 16-week semesters. Students complete a total of 21 classes (63 graduate units).
When do classes start at California State University Ventura?
Classes are held on Wednesdays (COC) or Thursdays (Ventura) from 4-10 pm, and includes up to four additional Saturdays during the Summer terms. Students must be available for field placement Monday-Friday, from 9am-6pm. Evening and weekend field placements are unavailable.
