What is return loss bridge?

In simple terms, the return loss bridge is a device used to measure RF power reflected from a load or device under test (DUT) when power is sourced to the device through the RLB. The DUT port connects to the device that you are testing (antenna, coax, etc.). A signal is generated into the input port.

How does a return loss bridge work?

A return loss bridge is a wideband resistive bridge network which can be used to verify the impedance of coaxial cables, antennas, tuning stubs, filters, etc. It works by comparing an “unknown” impedance to a “known” impedance, which is usually 50 ohms in radio work.

How does a VSWR bridge work?

How Does it Work? The typical HF SWR meter works by sampling the complex voltage and current at the point of insertion from which it calculates the effective SWR at the point of insertion on a transmission line with a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms (or whatever impedance for which the SWR meter is designed).

What is a RF bridge?

– The rf bridge switch is for 433MHz RF Remote controlled products, like RF controlled switch, RF controlled socket, RF controlled bulb, RF controlled door opener, etc. – The wifi remote controller support 8 schedule/countdown/loop timers to turn on/off the RF controlled products.

What is the Sonoff RF bridge used for?

433 RF Bridge Change the control way from 433MHz RF to the eWeLink with Wi-Fi. It can work with PIR2 PIR sensor and DW1 door/window alarm sensor to serve home security (PIR2 and DW1 are not included.)

How does a SWR work?

A directional SWR meter measures the magnitude of the forward and reflected waves by sensing each one individually, with directional couplers. A calculation then produces the SWR.

What is the best SWR reading?

What is a good SWR reading? The best reading possible is 1.01:1 (46dB return loss), but usually a reading below 1.5:1 is acceptable. Outside the perfect world a 1.2:1 (20.8dB return loss) is spot on in most cases. To ensure an accurate reading, it is best to connect the meter at the base of the antenna.

What is the ideal return loss?

The return loss scale is normally set up from 0 to 60 dB with 0 being an open or a short and 60 dB would be close to a perfect match.
