What are meaty corals?

Meat corals (Acanthophyllia deshayesiana) are a large polyp stony (LPS) coral that I love – even if they don’t sway in the current of your tank. Like most LPS corals, meat corals are easy keepers that are happy with medium intensity lighting and low flow.

Are Acanthophyllia aggressive?

Compatibility. Acanthophyllia corals are only aggressive if they are not given enough room to grow. Since these corals can grow to twice their starting size, this is an important thing to note. If you place them too close to other corals, they could get aggressive chemically and with their tentacles.

Will clownfish host duncan coral?

Even if you do get a proper host anemone they will likely stay with the duncan coral. Some people have host anemones, frog spawn, duncans ect… and their clowns host the power head, or the corner of the tank.

Can you have too much coral in a tank?

yes, there can be too many corals in a tank. be aware, that many of the TOTM you see, the corals are well spaced out. (i.e not jam packed), and they eventually grow into eachother giving it a full look.
