What is BookRiff?

BookRiff.com is a place where users can come to build their own unique books, and have them printed on demand. By compiling the works that publishers, authors, artists, and other Creators have uploaded in whole or bite-sized pieces, then possibly mixing that content with works of their own and authorized content from the web, users are able to draw from an enormous library of work to create their own custom reads. What is a Riff™?

A Riff is our term for a user-generated playlist of various content available through BookRiff, including published books, blogs, maps, and more. Adaptable, printable and share-able, a Riff is what you make it.

Other definitions we like (from dictionary.com):

1. a melodic phrase, often constantly repeated, forming an accompaniment or part of an accompaniment for a soloist
2. to look through a book or other written material
3. a rapid, energetic, often improvised verbal outpouring

Who is BookRiff for?

Publishers from around the world, authors, designers, journalists, artists, bloggers, travelers, professors, students, collectors, scrapbookers, book club members, book-lovers… and anyone else who reads!

Do I need an account to use BookRiff?

You need an account in order to: 1) upload your own content to save or make public for others to use in a Riff, 2) purchase a Riff, 3) save one or more Riffs you are working on, or 4) make your Riff publicly available on the Browse Riffs page. If you only want to create a Riff for fun without printing or saving it, or browse others' Riffs and Creator Channels, you do not have to register an account.

How do I create my own account?

From the BookRiff.com home page, simply click on register at the top, then enter your email and private password when prompted. In order to register your account, you must have an active email address and you must agree to our Terms of Service.

How private is my account information?

BookRiff will not share your account information with third parties at any time without your consent. Your account is password protected and only accessible to you. You have many options to increase your level of privacy as a BookRiff Creator, including the ability to keep the content you upload private (by leaving the Private toggle checked in the Upload form), so that you are the only person who can view it. You can also choose to leave the profile information, user name, and picture fields blank if you do not wish to have a public profile.

How can I retrieve a forgotten password?

Because only you have access to your password, you will have to create a new one if you forget it. Navigate to the Sign In screen, then type in your email address in the last box on the page and select Submit . You will receive an email within a few minutes with password-reset instructions. If you don't receive this email, please notify us.
